Fashion Advice For Women On A Budget

Under the certain economic circumstances, I know that it is hard to get the certain "expensive" things that we really want.  We simply can not afford it.  Many of us are without jobs or there may be only one income in the household.  Buying something to wear that is outside of the budget, and buying things that you can only wear one time is just an unwise decision.

With this blog, I am going to give you tips on different ways to spruce up your wardrobe.  Yes that stuff that is in the back of the closet, with the tags still on.  Yes that stuff in the back of the closet that you said you would wear but did not.

Mixing and Matching
Look in your closet.  Find something you do not normally wear and pair it with something you do wear.  This will make it look like a completely different outfit but really it was something you found way back in your closet.

For example:  A simple black dress.  Put a white skirt underneath and you have an outfit for the office.  Put a belt on, a cardigan, and boots and you are ready for a night out with the girls.  Accessorize your little black dress with a bold statement accessory and add a clutch and high heel shoes and you are ready for a romantic evening with a hot date.

Customize
Most of us do not know how to use a sewing machine.  You can change the buttons for a fresh look.  And if you are confident, cut off the sleeves, check the neckline or raise the hemline.  Everyone will think you have on a completely different outfit.

Accessories
The use of costume jewelry, scarves, belts, broaches, flower pins, hats, shoes and chunky necklaces will make one outfit look completely different.  A belt can change the shape of a dress, jumper or skirt.  It cinches in at the waist.  A scarf around the neck, across the shoulders, or around the waist can be very sophisticated and stylish.

Dye Clothes
Another easy way to change an item of clothing is to dye it.  Dye kits are available at local grocery stores and are very easy to use.  All you need is a washing machine and kitchen salt.  This is a fabulous way to save on clothes that have faded over time as well.
