- First remove the old polish. Use your own method of polish remover.
- Shape the nail by filing your nails. With your nail filer, shape your nails from corner to center.
- Soften the cuticles by soaking your hands in lukewarm lightly soapy water.
- Apply a cuticle remover by following the directions of your remover. Usually, you are pushing your cuticles toward the skin of your hand. This removes the dead cuticles. Be very careful when using the cuticle remover, some tend to be rather sharp. Wash gently and dry.

- Apply the base coat with long strokes. Apply the polish of your choice. with light, short strokes.
- As always apply lotion when your nails are dry. When applying lotion, start with your wrists and work your way down your hands. Gently massage.
